Pete Cannone

Chief Executive Officer

Pete, our visionary Chief Executive Officer, brings a wealth of experience in leading and scaling high-growth technology organizations. With an impressive background as CEO and board member at industry-leading companies, Pete is known for his strategic vision and results-driven leadership. His previous roles include serving as Chairman and CEO of DemandScience, CEO of UpCurve and ThriveHive, and President of Connection, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXN), where he consistently delivered operational excellence and business growth. Pete’s expertise extends to board service at MKS Instruments (NASDAQ: MKSI), where he also serves on the Audit Committee. With a passion for empowering teams and driving innovation, Pete is dedicated to guiding Newforma into its next phase of success, making him an invaluable asset to our leadership team.

Jim Lynch

Board Member

Jim, our esteemed Board Member, is a transformative leader in construction technology with nearly three decades of experience driving innovation across the industry. As Senior Vice President and General Manager of Autodesk Construction Solutions, Jim played a pivotal role in accelerating the construction sector’s digital transformation, guiding teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that reduce risk and increase margins for customers worldwide. Throughout his 28-year tenure at Autodesk, Jim held a variety of key leadership roles, including overseeing the successful scaling of Revit and helping establish Building Information Modeling (BIM) as an industry standard.

A respected voice in the AEC and CAD industries, Jim has contributed to the advancement of digital workflows and has been featured in leading industry publications. His deep expertise and visionary leadership make him an invaluable asset to the Newforma board as we continue to empower teams to deliver smarter, more connected projects. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Fitchburg State College.

Erik Brooks

Co-CEO, Ethos Capital

Erik has spent his entire career in the investment industry and prior to founding Ethos was a Managing Partner leading ABRY Partners. During his 20-year tenure at ABRY he originated, supervised, and sold companies in information services, digital infrastructure, enterprise systems, healthcare IT, financial services and media, representing an aggregate enterprise value of approximately $11 billion. Additionally, as a Managing Partner at ABRY Partners, he served on investment committees, and oversaw recruiting of all investment professionals, research, and information technology. He also managed relationships with limited partners, headed its Heritage Fund and was a key partner in raising $17 billion across 15 funds. Prior to joining ABRY Partners, Erik was an investment professional at New Century Holdings, the Baupost Group, and Apax Partners. In addition to Erik’s professional activities, he serves on the Board of Advisors of the International Council of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, and the Advisory Board of Think: Kids at Massachusetts General Hospital. As an active alumni advisor for Harvard Business School and Brown University, he spends time with students, helping them think about life after academia and how their contributions can make a difference in the world. Previously he served on the boards of the Citi Performing Arts Center in Boston and the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University, and the President’s Advisory Council on Internships at Brown University.

Gregg Monastiero

Executive Partner

Gregg works with investment team members and other Executive Partners to identify, analyze, and assess potential investment opportunities. Over the past three decades, Gregg has built an international career within the Application Software SaaS industry across the Americas, Europe, and APAC. Gregg’s focus is with technology companies and investment communities. Prior to Ethos, Gregg has served as President, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for various technology companies including Baan, SSA Global, Infor, JDA, TATA Digital, SumTotal, Symphony EYC, and Mi9 Retail resulting in exponential revenue generation in excess of two billion dollars. Gregg has worked as a software provider for leading private equity firms such as: General Atlantic, HGGC, Cerberus Capital and Vista Equity. 

Brent Stone

Managing Partner

Brent has more than 25 years of experience as an investor. Prior to joining Ethos, Brent was Co-Head of the Buyout Funds at Abry Partners, a Boston based private equity firm and served on the investment committee for its Flagship Fund. Over his career, he has been a lead investor in numerous companies with combined enterprise values of over $20 billion. Brent has been an investor and served as a board member on more than 20 different companies, both public and private. His experience spans a variety of industries with a particular focus on the insurance and financial services and media and entertainment sectors. Prior to his time at Abry, Brent worked for several investment banks, including Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, Credit Suisse, and JP Morgan Chase. Brent is a graduate of Cornell University and currently serves on the Cornell University Council. Brent is a frequent speaker at Harvard Business School where he discusses trends in the insurance industry, including discussing a case in which he was featured, “ABRY Partners and NSM Insurance Group.”
